About L.A. Endocrine Care
L.A. Endocrine Care (LAEC) is an endocrinology specialty clinic whose goal is to improve individuals’ health by becoming a partner in health with the patient. We are counselors and teachers as well as healthcare providers. The co-founder is a physician who is board certified endocrinology (American Board of Internal Medicine). She is Hispanic and bilingual in Spanish and English. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She has colleagues who are diabetes and obesity specialists who work with her to deliver the best care possible to the community. All healthcare providers as well as staff are bilingual in Spanish and English.
Why was LAEC established in Lynwood, California? Dr. Echeverry had worked in the community for more than 10 years at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. She recognizes the lack of resources in Endocrinology care in the area and has brought her expertise to the community in the hope of reducing health disparities by delivering healthcare directly to the consumer. Two of the most critical health problems in the community are diabetes and obesity. She brings tremendous expertise and ability to control a patient’s diabetes and have patients lose weight with innovative medical weight loss programs. Her next expertise is thyroid disorders and has set up models of care in Thyroid Disorders and Thyroid cancer treatment. She also is very knowledgeable and enjoys women’s health and fertility issues and hormone treatment of Transexuality.
Dr. Echeverry practices evidence based medicine and combines the best treatments for each individual depending on their wants, needs and response to treatments. She enjoys educating patients and believes education about patients’ concerns empowers and improves health.
Dr. Echeverry’s areas of expertise are thyroid disorders, diabetes mellitus, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, obesity and weight loss, women’s health and fertility, as well Transexual/Transgender treatment. She also manages pituitary and adrenal disorders, hormone replacement in both men and women, and adults with chromosomal abnormalities such as Turner’s and Klinefelter’s Syndrome and much, much more.
Dr. Echeverry has established several evidence based tools for delivery of endocrinology care so that all staff and providers can follow her approach to endocrinology and metabolism.
